You're not a certified diver, or you've been diving a lot and want a day rest, Snorkeling and cruising are your choice.
There are different Islands in Krabi to explore.
Poda Islands
Chicken Island and Tub Island are very popular and have nice corals and beautiful beaches as well. At low tide you can walk from one island to the other over a sandbank that is below the surface during high tide. These sites can get crowded and a park fee needs to be paid on arrival, but the beauty surrounding you and the relaxed atmosphere make it well worth a visit.
Koh Sii, Koh Haa and Koh Talu are some of the small Islands in the Ao Nang Area and are popular divesites as well as good snorkel sites as the sloping reef surrounding the islands become very shallow the closer you get to the island. Here you can enjoy the natural and undisturbed marine live and corals which are in great condition. These islands don’t have beaches and are much less visited by snorkelers, you might actually be the only one in the water.
Phi Phi islands
Around the Phi Phi islands you can virtually jump in the water anywhere and do some excellent snorkeling, although Phi Phi Ley usually has better visibility than Phi Phi Don. Turtles and blacktip reef sharks (harmless) are seen here regularly. There are many bays with sandy beaches to combine your snorkeling with some sunbathing. Maya bay, the filming location of the movie: ‘The Beach’, is probably the most famous snorkeling site in Thailand.
Hong Islands
One of the most beautiful pristine islands of Krabi, Koh Hong is pure paradise. Also known as Room Island, Koh Hong Island is a perfect escape whilst on holidays. Wonderful desert island location renowned for its breathtaking beauty, shallow coral reefs and fine, sandy beaches. In the middle of the half-circled shaped island lies the secret lagoon, where you can find yourself at one with nature.
